Warren - Goalkeeper, Abaleni
Warren makes goal keeping to look easy. He has not conceded in 4 games and currently the Golden Glove race. His calmness in ball retention, distribution, organization and saves have given Abaleni more stability at the back this season.
Ayebare Allan Ragz - Defender, Amajojo
Ragz is the rock of Gibraltar in Amajojo's defence, the short tenacious guy who plays central in between two Amajojo defenders twice his height. He is a good tackler, has a giant leap, good game reading and organization. He was solely the reason Abakuubwa and Abaleni attackers failed to breach Amajojo's defence. He came top in aerial duels, interceptions, blocks and clearances.
Nesta Ssesagi - Defender, Abakachai
You can't wear Nesta's name at the back of your shirt if you can't defend well. The test at hand was keeping Derrick and Kansiime, one of the most feared striker partnerships in the league yet he passed it with flying colors. His calmness on the ball, aggressiveness in tackles and good game reading caught our attention.
Aggrey - Defender, Enturi
The Cancelo of the JOVOC League. A precocious footballer, an inverted fullback who spends more time attacking in his opponent's half than defending in his own half. He was smiling, romancing the ball as his opponents were luxuriating in sweat and tension. He scored a brace; one of his goals was a contender for Goal of the Season. A rocket of a shot hit with flair from the center, canoed off both goal posts before it crossed the goal line to blow the solar plexus feeling of Nsiikye Saints goal keeper to concede.
Colleb - Midfielder, Enturi
The conductor and heartbeat of Enturi's midfield. He has built a reputation of being one of the best box to box midfielders in the league. The giant amongst the Enturi guys, an intricate passer of the baller even under duress no wonder he always provides the technical security whenever his team mates run into trouble. He scored 1 goal and set up 3 goals for his team mates as they won their 2 games of the week against Aboojo and Nsiikye Saints.
Vet Jose - Midfielder, Abaleni
Our league is blessed with gifted play makers and Jose Vet ranks among the best. He is a good manipulator of the ball, dribbler and don't be fooled by his baby face, he is a strong tackler and hard shooter of the ball. He is the kind of attacker that will give any defender palpitations if he was caught in one vs one situation. He scored 1 goal and laid on 3 assists to earn a berth on team of the week.
Nicolas - Midfield, Abezekyenda
Abezekyenda's fortunes have changed this season because Nicolas has stepped up as their talisman. He is clinical in front of a goal and he is blessed with pace and good dribbling skills. He has been a thorn in opposition defences alongside Oscar and Benjie. He scored 2 goals and laid on 3 assists for his teammates.
Yesiga - Striker, Ntemi Chiefs
It's not an ordinary thing that the oldest striker of the league scores. He was a handful for Ababombo's defence with his height and the way he bullied his marker Fred to create space to shoot and score. We applauded his efforts and commitment.
Mets - Striker, Enturi
A leader with low center of gravity, consistency, a clinical striker of the ball, giant leap, high acceleration, great on and off ball movements. Mets is the dream striker you would crave for your team. Last season's top scorer continued from where he stopped by scoring 3 goals in 2 games against Aboojo and Nsiikye Saints.
Goal of the week.
Aggrey from Enturi FC wins our #gwk2 Goal of the Week after launching a rocket of a shot from the center that canoed off both posts before it crossed the goal line.
